Vanakkam! MAARA: A Colourful, Picturesque way of storytelling by Dhilip Kumar. The expressions of each character are well captured by the director. Though the film is an adaption of the Malayalam movie " charlie" (2015), the director has done justifiable work for the audience as a debutant. The warmth of the color and lighting by Cinematographers: Dinesh Krishnan and Karthik Muthukumar take the audience scene by scene extravaganza. The use of fire workers every time, whenever the male protagonist Maara meets, has been well used by Dhilip Kumar to show the birth of a New Relationship, a New Life, Positivity towards Life, Affection eventually to Humanity. The profession of the female Protagonist (Paaru) is well chosen and aptly justified at the end of the movie. Velayya: Mr.Moulee just lived through the character. The Theif: Is this Alexander Babu, the Ex-IT, Standup Comedian, or the rebirth of Chandra babu. Hope Tamil Cine Industry is ready to get another comedy storm from Andavoorani. Dr. Kani: WOW! What a transformation by Ms.Sshivida from "Nedunchalai" Manga to a passive, guilt-hit doctor! The music by Gibran is Simply soul-touching, Soothing. The use of an old tape recorder, black & white photographers, pencil sketches, postcards inside the house to show the past Life and yearning of a soul, and the use of Windmill, Solar panel, rearing Nursery plants, injection to children outside the building to show Present Life and prosperity is well handled by the director. I liked the use of sarcasm on Tamilians (Pandi Tea Kadai). The graphics of train running, bridge, bus over the bridge could have been avoided. The graphics affect the life of the story. Thank you Dhilip Kumar for eventually making me cry out of happiness. Maara is joie de vivre!

Actually Tamil version the Maara character looks more matured but mischievous in heart. I don’t see anything wrong. Maara is a mysterious character he can’t be that youthful nor that old. It’s like having Jonny Depp acting. I think Madavan is suitable for this character for the Tamil version.

My personal opinion on Maara ( *I didn't see Charlie* ) I felt that every characters acting(except Shivadha) seems to be so artificial in this film probably the artificial dialogues made it looks like that and the humour didn't even work out, except two or three scenes that too in second half. This problem made the first half feels bit slow and boring. Second half is definitely better that the first half but not up to the mark. Finally somewhat satisfied with the climax. The content of the film feels great on paper but the execution is very poor

You didn't watch charlie.first watch charlie i would say best movie in malayalam in recent times. Music was outstanding in charlie. Maara music is above average compared to charlie

He was wasted in Mookuthi Amman.. Core of the story gets spoiled when the hero character is not understandable whether he is casual or emotional. Couldn't get connect to most of the characters as narration lost its way often... Shradha family a thongalla vittadhu... Paati character a ambo nu vittadhu... Maara photo a first ae kaamichadhu... Maadhavan sambandhame illaama... Shradha va kadaisi aa hug pannradhu...
